Ferguson gets last laugh on postal scare
Funnyman Craig Ferguson had the last laugh on his talk show Aug. 23 after receiving an envelope filled with white powder that later turned out to be harmless.
The Late Late Show anchor received the letter from overseas, though it never officially made it into his hands. The substance was exposed to two of the show’s employees, who were held in isolation until a hazardous materials team was able to test it. The FBI and police are currently working together to track down whoever sent the letter.
Ferguson, who was admittedly a little rattled, remained in good humor. On the studio taping of the show he quipped, “Today someone sent an envelope packed with white powder to the show. I offered to test it, but they said no.”
Despite the threat, Ferguson has continued to tape the TV show, and he even has two upcoming gigs. Craig Ferguson tickets are available for Sept. 24-25 at the Mystic Lake Showroom in Prior Lake, Minn.
